HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNGEST SON!

Serious Kitchen Work For Kids

Big sister is showing "the ropes" to little brother......how to dig in the kitchen drawer properly!  It seems like just yesterday that Little Miss discovered this treasure box full of plastic wonders.  Now it is Big Man's turn to scatter all the contents and watch it roll and bounce.  It's Physics 101 for tots!

A MEMORABLE BIRTHDAY

A bit of history!  This beautiful quilt patch was made by my friend Sue's grandmother.  The brown and peach floral print is from the dress she wore in my wedding 32 years ago and she brought the quilt to show me before we had lunch together.  My lack of computer skills limits me at the moment or you could see a picture of us 32 years ago.  It's coming.....be patient.

We had a lot of catching up to do after 5 years......all over a yummy lunch at The Gardeners Cafe' in Stayton.  Anna, though many miles away, called and picked up the tab as well as ordered up a huge and delicious piece of chocolate cake to complete the meal. (Which we shared!)

I have always loved a birthday because they are full of surprises and this one was no exception.  I have wonderful blessings in family and friends...... all gifts from a good and faithful God.

Packing Lunches

It's always a challenge to make  interesting and nutritious lunches for the guys.  It is a big deal for these guys to dig into good grub in the middle of a dirty day in the woods or on the farm so it's great fun being creative...that is...when there is good grub to work with.  Oops!  Out of peanut better again!  They do love a nice fat burrito all wrapped in foil to heat up on the motor of the machine.  What are some of YOUR unique and easy lunch ideas?

FISHING

Fishing with friends....these trophies came from Foster Lake and they cooked them over the open fire for a midnight snack.  Oh to be young!

The guys went up river to a favorite fishing spot and caught this beauty but let him go so he can grow.  No fishies for dinner this time.
